Here is a patch for xmms version 1.0.1 (which can be found on

They implement the following features:

xmms-0.9.5.1-rus.patch.gz

* koi8 Īr cp1251 cyrillic letters in the song name textbox. If you are
  using a non standard skin, then you should fix in it the file
  text.bmp adding the forth line with cyrillic letters (see, for
  example, xmms/defskin/text.xpm in the patched version).

* Allows editing of the cdinfo database
